Collaboration for Ethical, Inclusive, and Responsible Innovation
Our goal is to accompany processes of innovation and entrepreneurship that promote ethical practices through collaborations between social scientists, technical experts, and the beneficiary communities of digital technologies. This holistic approach fosters the creation of interdisciplinary teams that contribute diverse perspectives, knowledge, and experiences. We anchor ourselves in the use of methodologies like just and participatory design, socio-technical and feminist perspectives, collaborative ethnography, and ethical hacking to develop technologies aimed at meeting the needs and concerns of the communities we serve. Our work philosophy is radical collaboration and hyper-locality: we seek to create alliances aimed at promoting the use of digital technologies that address local challenges and respect people’s rights and dignity. We aim to implement contextualized, effective, and viable solutions that promote social and planetary wellbeing.
Capacity Building and Critical Thinking for Digital Empowerment
We build local capacity focused on the development of technical skills and critical thinking in the use of digital technologies. We provide training and resources that promote critical digital literacy, allowing participants to analyze, evaluate, and understand not only the technical aspects but also the ethical, environmental, social and economic implications of digital technologies like artificial intelligence. We promote inclusive access to digital technologies and open-source tools, ensuring that marginalized communities and civil organizations can benefit from emerging technologies, fostering inclusion and equity in access to information and digital resources.
Co-development of Artificial Intelligence Governance Tools
We offer research services, expert advice, consulting, and co-development of tools for the governance of artificial intelligence at organizational and government levels. We align with principles of open source, open access, public digital infrastructure, digital autonomy and sovereignty, fair use, and collaborative approaches that promote effective, sustainable, non-extractive, and ethical governance of artificial intelligence within the public and private sectors.
